Adventurous Wedding Part I : Lambi train chain ki kahaani
Marriages are made in heaven! :D :D :D
Well! as other people, even I had this thought in my mind.. Whether to go for a love marriage or an arranged marriage.. Love marriage would have been no problem coz my parents were all ready for it except for a condition that the guy should be a brahmin... N in my friends circle there were so many good candidates who were satisfying lot of points except that they werent brahmins.. :) N I was not the type of girl who can go against her parents.. If my parents arent happy then I very well wont commit such a crime :) So, I decided, I would go for an arranged marriage.. Parents khush.. family khush.. society khush.. everybody khush khush :) Happyyyz familyyyz :)
I agreed for an arranged marriage but with a condition that I should be allowed to meet the guy more than once.. I should feel he is right for me only then I will agree.. and nobody can force my decision.. With all these terms and conditions my parents finally started searching for a suitable proposal.. So many proposals came and went jus like the waves on the sea shore... Not any I was happy with.. It so happened that the one my parents liked...I never liked them.. n the one I liked.. the horoscopes never matched.. n so n so..Days were passing.. phone calls to parents were increasin.. my sisters and parents mail box was flooded with proposal mails.. At one point I thought looks like the brahmin community guys are becoming extinct.. No good guys at all.. Where have all they gone :)
Then finally one day on 27th March ,when I had been to Mlore for a vacation, this guy had come along with his uncles and relatives to see me... Typical arranged marriage types.. The guy comes to the girls house to see her.. they talk and then they decide .. somethin of that sort.. and they were ok with the proposal.. n next aftr two weeks I again go to Mlore.. and this time, the guy comes along with his parents. His parents were so very sweet and they were like all ok with the marriage etc. But till then I was still in a confusion if he is the one whom I have to marry? And then again aftr 2 weeks, my parents had decided to go to Hyderabad to visit the guys home and meet their family... And they insisted me as well to join them :)
so now,starts the fimly touch!
Friday the 24th April we had our train to hyd from yashwantpur station bangalore which is around 20kms or so from my sis's place of residence.. Coincidently Rakesh[ the groom presently my hubby]was also travellin in the same train.. The train was scheduled to depart at 8:50 PM. We left from home at 6 in the evening. We took a taxi to reach the station. Our bad luck it was raining cats and dogs. And as usual the blore traffic had come to a stand still.. Uptil 8 o clk we guys were near forum, koramangala area i.e we could hardly travel 6kms all this while :( Such was the situation. In the mean while we tried finding out the railway station number from jus dial. we tried calling the yashwantpur Rly stn and we requested them to delay the train by some time.. they said at max 10mins.. but not more than that.
We had a super cool taxi driver. He tried his best to drive fast n reach us to our destination.. Alas, at that time he showed his stupidity. Around 8 40 PM wen we were somewhere near palace grounds, this guy turns the car left and takes it to a pertrol bunk to fill Air.. N all of us become so furios n started shouting at him.. and the petrol bunk guy.. woh to kamaal ka tha! [ he was fantastic] He instead of fillin the air, removed all the air and later something happend n he wasnt able to fill the air properly :( It was 8 45 by then.. Later somehow he managed to fill some air.. He had to, otherwise he would have got a good punch from all of us. :D
Then once again we started our journey.. we reached some place from wer yashwantpur was jus 3kms.. but once again the traffic had come to a standstill n none of the vehicles were moving. Finally we managed to take a u turn and somehow reached the station at 9:10 PM. In the mean while Rakesh was calling up every now n then n askin our whereabouts? He had managed to talk to the engine driver and stop the train for sometime. But aftr 9 o clk , the engine driver said u need to go to the station master and get his permission incase u want me to stop for more time.To talk to the station master he had to go to platform 1 which is way too far from platfrm 5. Incase he does so, he too would have missed the train. The train started moving..Yes the train started moving and we were at the entrance of the railway station then. Rakesh could do nothing but pull the chain . Yes, he pulled the train chain. N the train stopped!!!!
In the mean while we were running towards platform 5. That was a long distance to cover.. N all of us managed to board the train. I dint know why the train had stopped. There were lot of people boarding the train. And wen we were moving from one coach to the other looking for our reserved seats, the police stopped us and asked Rakesh if he pulled the chain? He assumed it was jus to pay a fine and he said 'yes'.And then they illtreated him.. They pulled him with his collar and were dragging him to the station. All of us were shocked. I asked my parents to move ahead. I got down from the train and went along with him and tried persuading the police. They were jus not bothered to listen. Finally the train started moving! we pleaded the police to leave us and told them we wud pay the fine and then we went running to board the train. Jab we met style :d
There we were sitting in the train.. and me the great was laughin laughing n laughing endlessly at all that happened.. I am speechless to describe his bravery! I have thousands of reasons to say an Yes to this guy! He was the ultimate hero that day ! He said" Agar shuruaat hi aisa hai.. to pata nahin agey kya kya hoga" No idea What other things are stored in future in order to get married to u :)
Our wedding story started off in an adventurous way.. aage aage dekhte hain kya kya hoga.. :)
